The primary focus of this role will be in the financial reporting function of the organization.


    The Financial Reporting Accountant is expected to have an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and have the ability to appropriately apply those principles to various situations as they arise.


    • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Prepare monthly financial statements that are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
    • Perform monthly closing responsibilities, including preparing journal entries for review by accounting management.
    • Work with accounting management and external audit firm to ensure an efficient annual audit process.  
    • Obtain an understanding of general ledger accounts and be able to effectively communicate to the Financial Reporting Manager the activity that has occurred and resulting financial reporting implications.
    • Work with the accounting management to ensure partner organizations’ financial reports are accurate and issued in accordance with the financial reporting schedule.
    • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
    • Collaborate with Financial Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis teams in review of monthly financials and ad hoc requests.
    • Respond to accounting-related ad hoc requests from network staff as needed
    • Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in daily responsibilities and adhere to the values of The Seminar Network


    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • 0 - 3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus
    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access)
    • Experience in financial accounting software preferred
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
