    The Seminar Network is seeking a Deputy Director, Programs and Narrative to develop the narrative, theme, and content for exclusive events for several hundred of the country's top business and philanthropic leaders seeking to advance a free and open society through strategic investments in dozens of organizations. The events are designed to explore cultural and philosophical perspectives, address public policy issues, and advance strategies to empower all Americans to realize their potential. The events weave together fast-paced, intriguing presentations, panel and roundtable discussions, and short videos for a compelling narrative and powerful experience that inspires action from participants.

    • Direct high impact, TED talk style presentations including collaborating with presenters, working with the creative team to develop storyboards for visuals, and leading rehearsals with presenters to strengthen their performance and overall communication of their ideas.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of each event's program including the theme, narrative, and speaker identification, working closely with the Director of Programs and Events and internal stakeholders.
    • Manage the production of and write scripts for presentations to ensure these products are meeting strategic objectives and achieving quality standards that are narratively and visually consistent with the event's content.
    • Drive the prep for roundtable discussions, working closely with facilitators to develop outlines that will generate productive engagement from event attendees.
    • Assist with the run-of-show operations at the events including the choreography of the on-stage productions.
    • Supervise members of the event programs team.


    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or advertising or equivalent experience required
    • 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred
    • Understanding of and commitment to principles of a free and open society
    • An expertise in translating complex ideas and strategies into effective communications, including written and verbal communications
    • Experience in scriptwriting or speechwriting, writing creative briefs and treatments, storyboarding visuals, and directing on-screen or on-stage talent is preferred
    • An ability to present ideas in front of small internal groups including top executives and build consensus among stakeholders
    • Ability to work successfully in a team environment as well as independently, and exercise sound professional judgment
    • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously
